Bannock what model of Gerber knife is that? I looked on Midway but don't see that model for sale.

That's a Gerber Mk.I that I bought sometime in the mid to late '70s. Saw it in "Soldier of Fortune" magazine and just had to have one! It's an early production model when they were made with gray Armorhide handles and came with a tan colored leather sheath. Later production would have black handles and black sheaths.

Thanks Bannock. I did a google search last night and found them but they are no longer made. I did find a few on Ebay. They start at around $100 and go up from there. Midway used to carry double edged Gerber but with a shorter blade. About 3.5" IIRC. Now in TX if I have it correct you can carry a double edged blade. You can carry almost anything you want except a Tomahawk and Machete.

I paid $37.50 plus tax for the Gerber Mk. I. The only reason I know this is that was the retail price marked on the box by Gerber!

Another great gun/knife match-up! I could see taking both of them along on a trip to Alaska!
