(and yes, the M14 could be considered milsurp. Although it's an Armscorp semi-auto receiver (and therefore legal), most of the parts are ex GI, including the stock. Plus, it was actually formerly issued by the Oregon State Defense Force. So... I think it counts).

Simple it was Kontum City just befor we destroyed it building by building during the Tet holiday 1968. I realized early this morning that I'm glad to be alive another February 4th. and still have a rifle like the one that kept me alive. I hope i have lived life well and for the memories and faces with out names after so long.

My now 13 year old when she was about 11... shooting HER Mosin.....
MY 1895 Chatterault Mosin... If it looks funny it is because I never really found a rear sight for it that fits... this gun was so early.....

Here's a not so great pic of a section, of my "Man Cave". It needs a lot of fixin up, but I had a bunch of collections sitting around in closets, and I thought I'd enjoy them more if I put together a room and displayed some of the stuff. So an unused room in my basement became the setting. I don't have closeups of the guns, but they include from right to left...
1. Nagoya Series 1 T99
2. Nagoya T38 (late model probably 1940) with intact mum
3. 1938 Mauser K98
4. 1944 Springfield M1Garand
5. 1944 Rock-ola M1 Carbine w/high wood stock
6. 1943 BSA Shirley No 4 Mk1
7. 1939 Nagant revolver (on corner shelf)
8. 1942 Izzy 91-30.
Mixed in amongst them are various helmets, bayonets, and other WWII stuff. Walls are covered with framed WWII newspapers like the one you can see in the picture, covering topics like Pearl Harbor, D-Day, Battle of the Bulge, German/Japanese Surrender, etc. You can still purchase WWII newspapers pretty cheap. The room still needs a lot of renovating, but it's a work in progress.
