Dude, it strikes me as an almost perfect piece of 1860 "art-deco," particularly the bold case hardening and the wood...

You got a very nice revolver.

My Uberti New Model Remington .44 has been very good to me. These are just the gold, there's a bunch of silver & bronze, too. It's nothing special, not a "shooter's model" or whatever, but the trigger pull is sweet, and it's very accurate. It likes 22g of 3f under a wonder wad and .454 ball, without fillers.

I took this shot a few years back. A nice group of black powder Colts. The Patterson (no visible trigger in the center) is a Italian made reproduction but the rest are 1970s vintage Colt made revolvers, save for the long gun at the bottom. That is an honest to God Colt 1861 special contract musket made in 1862, in .58 caliber.

Among the large revolvers you see a Colt Walker just above the musket, the blue background case is a third model Dragoon, both in .44 caliber. There are a couple of smaller cased 1851 Colt Navy models in .36 caliber at the top. The double case set are a fluted and non fluted cylinder Colt 1860 Army models in .44 caliber. The real small revolvers on either side of the Patterson are a 1862 Pocket Navy and Pocket Police. There is also a 1861 Colt Navy and 1851 Navy to the left towards the bottom above the musket and the pair on the other side another Third Model Dragoon and a non fluted 1860 Army.

Also picked up an original Springfield Armory 1840 musket made in 1841 about three years ago.

I also have a few of the Philly Derringers, a Brown Bess and a Charleville, but those are repro and I have not taken any photos of those.

Oops, forgot about this. Here is something interesting I have had for a number of years. I got it from an old friend who is now deceased. He had built this based on something he saw in a museum. It's called a pistol chair and is designed to carry everything you need for your old muzzle loading pistol. So what we have here is the chair which is slotted to hold the patch cutting knife (he made this by hand from a old truck spring) pick, bullet starter, powder measure, flask, horn funnel, patch box and cap box. A little hook on the back holds the bag with your lead balls. We also have a spoon for pouring your lead into the bullet mold.

The pistol itself is a Lymans Plains Pistol in .50 caliber.

A few BP guns

CVA Kentucky 50 cal kit my wife gave me for Christmas 20 years ago.
Middle is Pietta 1860 Colt. Right side is Pietta 1858 Remington with target sights. I built the loading/display stands.

The first big pistol is a .50caliber a friend of mine build, the barrel is a 1:48 off-cut from a Green Mountain barrel from a rifle which he build a few years ago. It is shooting roundballs and light conicals very comfortable.

The second little pistol(mousegun) is a pistol which I build myself with the help of the same friend. He draw it in CAD and we had the parts lazer-cut, I then filed it to specs and build it with a .22cal barrel off-cut. It is shooting 30gr conicals. A 30-06 casing for scale.

RandyRay, very nice first BP pistol. Now don't get caught up in this!!!

I suppose something a little different is better for show-n-tell than the Cabela's showcase...

@BowerR64

It uses .22 lead, same bullets as the North American Arms revolwers works perfect. I use a .22case full of blackpowder and the plastic cap ignites it perfectly. It packs a punch for a small pistol!

MattSchlock, maddest of propers. Matchlocks and a wheel lock. Nice. What's the skinny on that short sword? It's really caught my eye.

And snaphaunce flintlocks up there too, and miquelet I'd posted here elsewhere lock-closeup below...

It is a Landsnecht's Short Katzbalger; the general category were standard arms for these largely mercenary armies and particularly useful for lopping an enemies pike in half.

Katzbalger
Original: Mid 16th century Germany

Double-edged blade with three fullers and a thick ricasso; twisted s-shaped guard with fancy finials, leather-covered grip with twisted accent wire; ball pommel and decorated quillon block.

Has a leather-covered wooden scabbard.
Blade: 18" long

The original 28" bladed, 2.9 lb., swords HAD been made by J.F. Schroeder of Southern California but he was apparently bought out by Mayhawke Armo(u)ry. Don't know what ever happened to them. I'm pretty sure this is a high end made-in-India sword. 1060 Carbon Steel.

The 18" bladed Darksword Amrory short katzbalger (in the pic below with a Landsnecht's snaplock) is nice looking too but comes with a little too long a scabbard and at 3 lbs. 5 ozs I defy any human being (except maybe Arnold in his prime) to swing it with any authority and usefullness!
