Here is a quick pic of my modest snubby collection. From top left SP-101 stainless, SP-101 Blued, next row 442, 431PD 32 mag, third row 31-1, 637, on the left 31-1 3" and on the right 36-6 3" 38 Special. I have read S&W only made 615 of the 36-6 guns. The rubber grips are factory. I didn't get the box and dox with this gun. Its one of my favorite trail guns. Loaded with WC bullets to around 750fps its a great small game or trail plinker. And at that low pressure brass last forever.

This is an unusual S&W 60-4, 3". Most 60's have fixed sights, this one has adjustable sights, full lug barrel, plus a target hammer and target trigger. It dates to 1996, just about the time S&W stopped making the Model 60 in .38 Special and started producing it in .357 Magnum. This one is a .38 Special. It is the only revolver I have lettered by Mr. Jinks, the S&W Historian. The gun was part of a special production run of 145 units for RSR Wholesale Midwest Inc. Milwaukee, WI.

I lucked into it. It had been traded in on a bottom feeder at the local tactical gun store. It came with the wood grips shown, plus the original box and papers and rubber grips. The wood grips feel very comfortable. I have not seen very many like it on the auction sites.

I remember seeing one of those at one of the local gun shops and thinking S&W has just made the ultimate Kit Gun! A J frame in .38 Special, made from stainless steel, with a 3" barrel with a full shroud, and adjustable sights!

Doesn't get any better than that!

I have a couple of snubs…I kinda like ‘em.

A 3” Model 36 I rescued from the dead:

A new Colt Cobra, a nickel Model 49, an SP 101 .38 and a Model 642:

A Dan Wesson 15-2 with a 3” VH shroud ( I also have another frame that wears a 2” VH on occasion):

A 3” Model 13 with a bit of lipstick (Somewhere I have a pic of my 2.5” Model 19, I couldn’t find it):

If you can shoot a sub 3” barreled revolver well, you can probably shoot any revolver well.

Stay safe.
