Letter to editor: Humans just aren’t capable of using guns responsibly

I can't wait until the time comes when this guy needs a gun.

These antis are the same a-holes that will give their 16-year-old kids the keys to their 4000lb killer SUVs.

Ummm, unless my understanding of the law is wrong, the law is not designed to "prevent" ANYTHING from happening. It simply sets a standard for punishment should you commit that act.

Yup. The sad thing is, Mr. Musser has a degree in the stuff.

Hunting season is about to start. On the first day of hunting season, a child will be shot by another hunter somewhere in Ohio. It happens every year

Pulled out of thin air as usual and the press lets it go.

gezzer: you know that the press's job is not to validate or support or make sure of any type of accuracy or evidence, it is only their job to report the ramblings of ignorant people and when facts and evidence are provided to dismiss them as partisan hackery or trickery.

Is it The High Road to print someone's phone number without their consent?

That bothers me, too. This is a letter to the editor written as a private person, not as journalist or public official.

Besides, there is no way of knowing for sure the phone numbers given are for the writer of the letter, or someone who shares the same name.

The purpose of my linking the letter here was to provide information about the kind of sentiments are are being put forth in the media as it relates to timely legal and political issues of RKBA. The letter gives the views of one individual, but those views are likely shared by many others, and it's important to be familiar with them in order to counter them effectively.

Only the staff can answer that, however I felt it reasonable. If he is going to print such stupidity in the public domain then he is fair game IMO. If he wanted privacy he should have used his initials.

Another prime example of the intellectual masturbation that is the holy grail of the leftist/socialist political worldview.

This genius says humans should not be allowed to have guns. It would be interesting to see a world where the police and military are tasked with protecting sheeple like him with pointy sticks.

As for me, I think I'll pass on that experiment, thanks just the same. I'm a human; I have guns. Guess what? Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than all my guns combined.

What a myopic idiot this guy is.

If, and I emphasize IF, this is the same Phil Musser he gave away his right to privacy by entering a public forum, the newspaper letter column. His corporate and home information are readily available to the public on the internet.

Perhaps more significantly, a Phil Musser, apparently from the Columbus area, is the Executive Director of the Republican Governors Association. There may be a name mixup but I would certainly be interested to know if this is the same person.

If Mr. Musser's association with the RGA is real it rather shoots down Progunners anti-liberal/left tirade doesn't it.

If you had checked just a little further you would have found that one is Philip S., and the other is Philip A.

The people who think they need guns to solve their social problems are precisely the people who shouldn’t have them.

Truer words have never been said.

Of course, he pre-supposes that all who possess guns consider them the answer to society's ills and will act accordingly.

The original statement is still true, but the APPLICATION needs to be scrutinized. :(

You can’t arrest somebody until after he commits the crime and victims are already dead. The law doesn’t stop him.
If someone threatens you, call the cops! They'll just tell you there was no crime committed and there's nothing they can do. It's perfectly legal to threaten someone's life but the threat can be used against the assailant after the fact.

The only way to stop him is not to allow him to have guns in the first place.
...or arm the victim!
