Thats nice. He can have his opinions about these things, but my gun rights arent up for grabs, sorry.
Ummm, unless my understanding of the law is wrong, the law is not designed to "prevent" ANYTHING from happening. It simply sets a standard for punishment should you commit that act.
Hunting season is about to start. On the first day of hunting season, a child will be shot by another hunter somewhere in Ohio. It happens every year

Perhaps more significantly, a Phil Musser, apparently from the Columbus area, is the Executive Director of the Republican Governors Association. There may be a name mixup but I would certainly be interested to know if this is the same person.
The people who think they need guns to solve their social problems are precisely the people who shouldn’t have them.
If someone threatens you, call the cops! They'll just tell you there was no crime committed and there's nothing they can do. It's perfectly legal to threaten someone's life but the threat can be used against the assailant after the fact. You can’t arrest somebody until after he commits the crime and victims are already dead. The law doesn’t stop him.
...or arm the victim! The only way to stop him is not to allow him to have guns in the first place.
