LGS is Tempting Me (Again)

If the 1903 is still there Tuesday, it's coming home with me. (LGS is near my office, and we are only in the office T/H.)

Further development--there's a brand new LGS only a few blocks from the house. Nice shop, friendly staff--almost sterile in that "just opened for business" way. But, they have an M&P 15-22 with the M&P branded RDS optic--and for $435--so I may have to go see how they haggle [:)]

Sure it's not a clone?
Certainly looked like legit FN markings to me--but, I'm no DP expert by any means.

The GP35/HP is a little bit of a "niche" item--you really need to be an aficionado to care that much. And, there are a lot of 9x19 out there. It was in a case chock full of very similar firearms, and would be easy to pass over, visually. And, this is a small shop in one of the "mid cities" towns here between Dallas & Fort Worth.

The price change may just be a post-scarcity price adjustment. And, SAI releasing their new hotness will have clobbered some of the GP35 market. Maybe. Perhaps. YMMV

As promised, braved idiot drivers in the rain to bring home my [new] treasure

Frame, sitting on my desk is about 50-60% original Royal Blue; slide is maybe 25-35% Guts.jpg
Barrel is nice & shiny. Trigger is not as nice as the previous one I had, in the 6-7# range but a clean break. Recoil Spring feels like about 40#, but really isn't--just stout

Color me happy.
Found my one box of Silvertip .32acp, and all five boxes of FMJ--so, really happy.
Still searching for the Boyt 'kidney' rug I know is in the house somewhere that this will fit perfectly.
Per the Colt s/n look-up, this is 1915 manufacture date, and, thus a Type III.
Happy happy joy joy

And the new one

Slides are about the same, but the new one has a lot more blue in the frame (and has an unbroken grip panel).
Color me happy.

Ok, so my new (slightly closer) 'other' LGS, Guardian Guns twisted my arm into a S&W M&P 15-22. Price with the optic was just too good to pass up, and I've been without a dedicated 22LR for a while. Would have been slightly happier to not have the battery in the optic be dead--but show me a working-out-of-the-box CRS1620 [:)]
(I have a spare Holosun 590 in any event, which would help for commonality.)
And, since Rule 1 Always Applies:

Color me under-happy about how the battery cover works on this optic, but, at the price . . .
