Lawyers must be paid on a basis determined before the trial begins and that basis may not change dependent on the outcome of the trial or the amount of the settlement.

I agree with this in principle. But, there are those rare cases when someone who is REALLY poor gets screwed over by someone with deep pockets. When the opposing entity can hire the best council that money can buy there is a chance of loosing regardless of the merits of your case. The possibility of becoming financially destitute on top of whatever injury prompted that case is quite likely to keep people from suing when they SHOULD. Also it will make it a lot harder for the "little guy" to hire a decent attorny regardless of how good their case is.

"I think that in order to be liable for information one has to consider the authority of the source."

That's been kinda the core that started this debate 2 other threads ago.

There are some very good folks here that will walk a person thru the process step by step. When others will stop part way thru leaving them to guess the rest because they jack their jaws about things that have no value at all to the original subject.

If you're going to make a post with 'authority' behind it..........finish it! That's all I ask. I think its also fair to the forum, if they think its harmful, it can be deleted. And if there are questions about the procedure, don't have a malfunction over it.

Giving the above, I think it will slow down some postings that have no velue, especially coming from those with 'authority', or lack there of............
