Also, the auctioneer is in your corner, the more it sells for, the more he makes.

Not really. A lot depends on if the gun is one in high demand. For the more common stuff, the faster they can hammer it down, the more they can run through the auction in a given amount of time and take many small sales profits that will add up to more than one big sale.

The cheapest firearms I have bought were at estate sales, I have a 510 I bought at one for $35 that shoots fantastic, for the seller that is a bad idea, unless you just want to get rid of them. Personally I'd rather give them to friends or kids of friends that have some attachment to them from a fun day they had.

The auction places seem to bring the highest price as I see used stuff sell often at higher prices than they can be bought brand new. Would want a reserve on some things though.

Then you could also subtract the fees they will charge and just set a price you want an post them on a forum, like at the bottom of this one for example.

Do you have relatives, potential heirs (nephews, nieces, grandkids) that might be shooters? Give them a chance to own your guns. Do you have shooting buddies? Let them know you are downsizing. I bet you can move most of them privately.

I had an uncle with some really old Winchester lever guns that I drooled over as a kid. After he passed, I inquired about them and was disappointed to learn he had sold them to a gun store. I would have paid him more.

No one will pay for extras, but will always ask if more extras can be included. At all the LGS places they say, "scopes will not sell a gun.". So true. These days I sell the. gun with or without the scope. Most of the time buyers want the gun only.

It depends on the time frame as well. This Covid mess is not going to last for ever and when it is over you can proceed with your original plan if you want. The other options are good as well. I have purchased from members here in the past and had great results as well as meeting other gun owners in the process.

I'm biased as I live in Colorado and so suggest posting them here. Local sale maybe?

If you go consignment, it could be good or bad. A lot of people want to buy guns now, but then, a lot of people are out of work and money is tight. You'll get more money doing the sales yourself but consignment may be the easiest. If you are doing a large number, maybe they will discount the consignment fees.

As time marches on, I find myself with more guns than I can keep up with. I sold the Colt "Snake Collection" , which left me with 35-40 handguns and I lost count of long guns.
I had planned on renting a table at the gun show, but the virus took that away. Now, what to do? Have an "Estate Sale"? Or try and sell on line (pain in the keester) . Or is there other options I haven't thought of?
THere aren't any "cheap" guns in the bunch. Several HiPowers, Colt revolvers, S&W revolvers, Berettas, Misc H&K, Sig, Dan Wesson..you get the drift. They won't go at "give away" prices, but fair to me and buyer. Any suggestions ?

Im Looking for a 4 inch 29....maybe a 629.
Also in Colorado Denver Metro

GUNS 4 EVERYONE will do a person to person transfer for free. I do tip or buy other items to help keep the lights on.

I would suggest waiting out the Kung Flu panic and then go about your business.

Find a dealer who will list them online on consignment. You have a larger clientele. If they are priced right they will sell. Especially if they are nice harder to find treasures. I just sold a Mitchell's Premium Mauser that the owner listed for $700. It sold for a little over $1200. The market is there.

If U R going to start advertising / selling here on THR as some here have suggested perhaps just simply post it in the Ads sections maybe? Where it should be at? And link it, here.

Just a suggestion:)
