Hello everyone, I saw a Llama mini max .45 today for $258. Does anyone know anything about them? I carry a Glock 19 but my job sometimes requires me to go to businesses that don't allow me to carry. I would hate for someone to break into my truck and take my Glock. Would this Llama make an okay "in the truck" gun?
THANK YOU,
Glockkeeper

Some work others need a little tinkering. Llama has closed its doors but parts are still around. I have a Llama and now is a nice pistol but took some work. I think money be better spent on some type of lock box for you truck.

I had a Mini-Max,a TOTAL POS.I had a lot of work done to make it function, nothing worked. That's just my experience, though,I'm sure there are others who have good ones. However,if it was me,I'd get a Taurus Millenium Pro PT145,very good guns...

Llamas are more of a frustrating hobby - second only to golf -than they are simply firearms.

I have a hate/hate relationship with a MiniMax SubCompact that I am determined WILL work, but it is even more stubborn and disagreeable than my first wife. :cuss:

It does not respond to re-machining, honing, truing, polishing, tightening, tuning, tweaking or enlargement...hmmm...again like my first wife!

Anyway, the Bersa or Firestorm are about the same price range, but seem to be operable firearms of mediocre quality, as opposed to to the Llama...

I have a Mini-Max that I've had for about 10 years now. Mine has had a little trigger work done to it and an ambi-safety installed. The fit and finish on these guns............well they don't fit too well and the finish darkens the metal. I find them to be clunky.
The only problem I had with mine was ejected cases tended to come straight back at me hitting me on the head and face. After about 500 rounds the pistol settled down and is as reliable as any 1911 I've ever shot.
For the price you can't beat it as a truck gun. It's not pretty, so you won't mind getting a ding or two on it and if it's ever stolen you won't be out of that much money or a favorite gun.
