That's just legal talk to cover liability. IMR was a highly trusted company and the merger with Hodgdon doesn't change the validity of the work they did before the merger. I would use the IMR data without fear.

I agree, but there are some business details in there.
DuPont moved smokeless powder production to Expro in Canada in 1976. Then divested entirely to Expro dba IMR Powders now owned by General Dynamics.
What Hodgdon acquired was IMR Powder of New York, the distributor. They do not own the factory.

I think either DuPont or IMR data for 4227 is still good, especially at reduced load levels. There was some mumbo jumbo about H and IMR 4227 and 4198. I do not know if the label and the factory match up any more, a lot of Hodgdon's extruded powder comes from Australia.

I never said Hodgdon owned any plant. We all know they have no production capabilities so how could they own the plant in Canada or any plant for that matter. Same for Winchester powders, they licensed the name and control distribution but they don't own Winchester powders.

Well, I won't quarrel over what "merger" meant to me vs what it meant to you.
