I don't load for this classic old American cartridge, but based on it's 63 gr ave. case capacity, mild 39,000 cup SAMMI pressure spec, and typical 200 gr bullet - Reloaer 15 and/or H4895 would be powders I'd look to.

There was a time when this was THE premiere cartridge for lever action repeaters. It'll easily take anything in North America up to Carabou.

I do reload 33 Winchester with 200 grain FNGC lead bullets. They are still available from Hunningtons, com $14.98 per 50 + S$H. Also the headstamped brass is available from graff & sons or you can resize and trim 45-70 brass, I use Winchester with good results.

Lee load data published: for lead bullets

170-190 grain IMR 4320 39.1 grains 2100 fps

180-200 grain IMR 3031 36.7 grains 2000 fp
180-200 grain IMR 4895 38.4 grains 2050 fps
180-200 grain H4895 38.4 grains 2050 fps

190-210 grain IMR 4064 38.0 grains 1900 fps

#3315 Hornaday 200 grain Jacketed FP published data from Hornaday I think these will work with the new 200 grain 338 leverevolution bullets when they become available.

H4198 34.5 grain 2000 fps
IMR 3031 40.0 grain 2100 fps
H4895 45.1 grain 2200 fps
WIN 748 43.2 grain 2100 fps
IMR 4064 42.1 grain 2000 fps

These are MAX loadings please start 10% low and work up

Max case length 2.105 inches I use 2.100 inches
Max overall length 2.795 inches
I am attempting to find a loading with Trail Boss that will work.

Hope this helped:)

.33 Winchester loads

The Honady Fifth Edition reloding Book has a few .33 Win loads in it on page 435. I have used them in mine and they work OK. I was glad to see the .338 FTX 200 grain bullet come out. I have not used it but look forward to see the results a pointed bullet gets in it. It is te same bullet they use in their "LeverEvolution" ammo. Hawk bukkets out of NewYork also makes them you can find them on line. There are a copy in size and shape of the Honady flat point that was discontinued a few Years ago. You can find them at www. Hawkbullets.com or something like that.
