Anyone know how to properly adjust or choose the right disc for 8.0 gains of true blue on the Loadmaster Powder dispenser system?

The most accurate way is to use a scale.

Lee provides an alternative to the scale - with the use of VMD table for popular powders. Here is a PDF copy.

VMD (volume measured density) number for a powder tells how much cubical centimeters one grain of a given powder occupies. True Blue is listed there with .0684 cc per gr. To measure 8 grains, it needs .0684*8 = .5472 cc. Lee disk measure has .53 and .57 disks - you got the idea which one to choose to be safe. Just to be sure, get the VMD table, and check the above calculations yourself.

VMD values for real powders vary from lot to lot, and Lee VMD table is made on a safe side. Do not be surprised if you feel that your ammo with the calculated disk is underloaded. It is much better than experiencing a kaboom. Once you understand where to look for pressure marks, you can work up the starting load with confidence.

Thanks a Lot "helg". I don't think i'll be using the disks. I'm gonna charge the cases manually.

Try a few drops with each different size and weigh each one. That is the only way to know what you are getting. I have used it with a few different powders none have matched the chart.

Helq's reference to the VMD charts is the correct way to go if one uses the disks. If you then set up the measure for consistency--full hopper, powder settled, etc.--and measure ten charges while operating the press, which provides a consistent "jiggle"--you should have a good idea of what a particular disk will dispense.

OTOH, I see no reason why to fiddle with the Lee disks; use the adjustable charge bar they sell. Adjust the bar as needed to get the charge weight you want. Then, test it by charging the ten cases again and weighing the charges; you'll know what the charge weight to be.

This is the routine I use for charging cases with True Blue on my presses--an updated older Lee Turret and a Load-Master.

To be honest, Rodrigo, I can't imagine manual case charging while running a Load-Master--unless you are still trying to get it set up to run smoothly. I run mine using the typical (Pro / Deluxe) Auto Disk measure on the PTED die, with the manual pull-back rod installed, and it is totally reliable.

Are you having trouble getting the Load-Master to dispense reliably?

Thanks Jim. I didn't know about the Adjustable bar from Lee.
Every now and then i get a little or less powder using the disks.
I Even bought the Powder checker die from RCBS to help me keep an eye on the charges. What i'm gonna do is keep using the disks for now, visually double check with the Powder checker die, seat the bullets in place, disable the priming system and then "Factory Crimp" separately.
