Can anyone recomend loads for a remington 700 SPS chambered in 22-250?
I am very pleased with the accuracy of this gun using Remington Factory 55gr. PSP ammo (.5" groups at 100 yards). I tried reloads using 55 gr. Vmax bullets and H380 powder and was not happy at all with the accuracy, about 2 1\2 inch groups. Any recomendations? Thanks.

Use at your own risk, but I have never seen a good 22-250 that would not shoot 36gr. of IMR4320 under a 55gr flat base bullet and CCI 200 primer into 1" or less with Rem. cases. That's in a 1in14 twist barrel.
That was long before V-Max bullets and Varget were available.
My current load is 33.3gr. of IMR3031 with the 52gr A-Max. 5 shots in 3/8" at 100yds. I cannot get my rifle (Remington Barrel) to shoot the A-Max bullet with any charge of Varget. Great powder, just doesn't work with that bullet in my rifle. IMO, the A-Max is the near perfect bullet to use.
You just have to play around with combination's until you find the magic.

My go-to .22-250 load is a 50gn Nosler Ballistic Tip under 36gn Varget with a CCI-200 primer. I seat the bullet out a far as the rifling allows and get ~.5MOA.

Is weighing each charge a must? I have been using on RCBS Uniflow powder measure with the Hogdon powders because of the fine granuals. I have not used IMR powders in the uniflow measure.
