What is the best way to remove Loc Tite?

I took a scope of my Remington 700 to move it to another rifle, and there is some excess Lot Tite (blue) on the receiver. :uhoh:

Try acetone. I bought a second hand Savage that had some sort of threadlocking excess on the top of the receiver around the mount holes, but acetone alone wasn't enough. I ended up using a razor blade to scrape off what the acetone wouldn't remove.

Loc-tite and most epoxies break loose at about 400F .This temperature will not damage metal gun parts.
