Silly journalists, that only works if you meet on the internet, discuss goods and prices, meet in person, and then trade, assuming that private cash f2f is legal.

You can buy the guns online, technically without a background check, but if you are prohibited, then good luck getting past the background check when you go to get them from the FFL.

The logic I see is we also need to ban newspapers that run classified ads too. Sensationalism on a slow news day is all I see. :barf:

Just another attempt to scare people. Felons are going to get a gun if they want it. Private sales of firearms shouldn't be to blame. It's not actually buying a weapon online either. The Internet only acts as a means of finding a seller and setting up a face to face.

I had an FFL for over 12 years. I sold not a lot of firearms but all the paperwork and record keeping was impecable right down to the back ground checks on everyone to whom I sold guns. I went out of business in 1982, paid sales taxes and income taxes on my profits. I turned my records in to the ATF and later found out about the illegial sales of guns that went to the Cartels in Mexico sponsered by the ATF. I felt sold out and stupid. A Bill of Sale with statement that the person buying the gun is not a felon or of abususive behavior is perfectly fine by me at this point. I will not sell a firearm to someone I don't know but thats jusi me. Be Safe
