Got it. 78.5% in our favor. Stupid poll questions though, like I don't want harsher punishments for criminals as well.

My vote was only the 1,041st vote. Not a whole lot, but we're winning.
That means only 36 people voted for gun control. Ha!! Ha!!

I don't really agree with us voting on an online poll for a local paper, they want to know what the people living in the town thinks about gun control not a bunch of forum users.

Also I hate the question "What needs to be done to curb the amount of deaths caused by those carrying guns?" It makes it seem like people with concealed carry permits are doing it.

I would have voted Concealed carry permit holders allowed into more places. I have a permit myself.

However I don't think personally people should have to get a permit to carry concealed.

So I voted that nothing can be done. People will always find a way to kill other people no matter what laws are passed.

I agree, and voted the same.

+1

One option was tougher penalties for the BG's.
This relates to longer sentences, or supposed rehabilitation while they are behind bars? That will work to reduce armed robbery or home invaions? No!

Done. CCW answer currently has the lead with 76%.

Gotta love how they broke up the non-anti-gun options into three distinct categories to give the antigun response the appearance of a majority opinion in the event of a plurality.

1270 people voted so far.

CCW is at 76.2%, gun control is only at 3.2%. lol

I gotta say... god bless fayetteville... and I'm atheist!

Am I the only one that sees the poll as being flawed somehow? I know a couple of you voted for "nothing can be done", which is really the point. I don't think that harsher penalties is going to matter to someone who plans on killing themself afterwards, but I can see how people would vote for that option in lieu of the other three.

I feel strongly that nothing can be done in instances such as that. People can carry all day long, but until the number of people who do actually carry on a daily basis, and even in areas where they're not supposed to, I don't see that option as being a deterrent. It could possible end the situation a bit earlier, but it isn't going to prevent one from ocurring. And these guys have been thinking this through enough that if a day were to come that a majority of people did carry, the bg's would mass kill a different way...bombs, poison, who knows.

I did vote to allow people to conceal carry, though, because I think that it would send a message to others that there are more of us out there than they think and it is becoming more mainstream. Ay little way, such as this, to get it out that there are responsible people who carry, and that want others to carry, is a good thing. It's the most passive way to get out the message.

1432 vots,3.2% want more gun control.

imagine how excited the troops will be when they see biden,
