    My longest is a 7.5" Bisley 44 Mag. I wouldn't mind having a 9.5" Single Six convertible.

The Bisley is a pleasure to shoot. This was a 25 yard standing unsupported target.

Unless you modified your Buntline barrel, you might want to re-measure. Uberti-made versions are 18". Colt Buntlines are typically 12". My Uberti in .45 Colt is below. DSCF3331_zpsc772086b.JPG

My longest revolvers are like chicharrones: a Colt Model 1860 with one being a Colt #rd. Generation and the other a Pietta. My next longest is my ASM Colt SAA U.S. Cavalry Hartford Model.

I plan to get the 8 3/8" barrel put back on my .357, I have come to appreciate full size guns more.

Trivia: A guy on another board was looking for a source of 12" barrels threaded for S&W. He is in England, where Long Barreled Pistol is a legal term. You have to have a long barrel AND an ugly butt protrusion so the Bobbies don't think you are trying to conceal a weapon.

Freedom Arms 22 silhouette with 10" barrel. The most accurate and fun to shoot revolver we ever owned! :)

The longest barrel revolver that I own is a Super Blackhawk Hunter with a 7.5" barrel. Not sure I'd want a revolver with a longer barrel.

My one of a kind Taurus M607-8SS. The M607 was a seven-round predecessor to the eight-round M608. It was only produced for two years was not available with the 8 3/8" barrel. My revolver is actually the M607 assembled crane/cylinder & action installed in an M608 frame. The reason for the build is the cartridge that it uses; the .360 Dan Wesson. Both the M607 and M608 cylinders are long enough to handle the .360 DW, which is 1/8" longer than the Magnum, but the seven round cylinder has more metal around the chambers to better handle the higher pressures the .360 DW operates at.

Spectacular gun. I have often wondered how strong the 607 truly is, and if it would hold up with loads approaching ‘max range. I won’t try it, but I suspect it would. If it holds the .360 then it should hold an insane magnum. Not that I advocate doing it, I’m just glad to see that’s others have leaned on a Taurus.

My first modern revolver and first S&W, bought in 1985 is this 8-3/8" 686_ Most 686s from that time frame had fixed front sights, but this was a target model and had the pinned sight. Shot IHMSA with it.

I added the 8-3/8" 629 a couple of years back. (Solid cylinder and recessed chambers)

I can't find a picture right now but I seem to recall that Audubon, besides his large bore shotgun, also used a very long barreled (14"?) .22 revolver for more discriminatory gathering of specimens to paint.

Oh wait, you didn't know Audubon killed most of the birds he painted.

These long barrels reminds me of the movie "city heat" with Burt Reynolds and Clint Eastwood.
