I did a search, both with the search function and by scanning the subforums, and, to my surprise, I couldn't find anything. I first heard about this on another, non-gun-oriented forum, and wanted to see THR's take on the situation.
Methinks that, despite however the individual may have come into relations with MS-13 (young black male with an AK, not incredibly well-spoken, however, any inferences about their relationship are unnecessary) he had the right to self-defense when 20 or so gang members come onto his property and threaten his life and the lives of his family.
Chances are the police now have confiscated his weapon. I hope someone was smart enough to post 24/7 patrols in front of this man's house... if MS-13 decides to retaliate, the Long Island PD could find themselves in an even more unflattering position...
