Looking for a YouTube video about learning trigger squeeze

A couple of years ago there was a link to a pair of YouTube videos going around which gave excellent training on how to squeeze a trigger properly. I changed phones and l lost the bookmarks.

In the first video, a lecturer gave a classroom session, making the points that physiologically and instinctively no one wants to hold an explosion, so we naturally jerk the trigger to get it over with. He recommended talking to ourselves, making a conscious decision to squeeze the trigger, beginning with “here we go” to begin the squeeze.

The second video was on the range, a shooting session in which the lecturer attempted to distract shooters by tapping them on the head or having them shoot standing on one leg while aiming at a small target 50 yards away.

I want to share these videos with some friends and hope someone here can recognize them from my description and give me a title or a link. My YouTube searches have not been successful.

Thanks, that's not bad but not the one I was looking for. Which may be impossible to find; after posting I continued to search and found that the video in question has been removed from YouTube for some reason. Too bad. If I ever find it I will re-post a link.

 

I think remember the video. It was mind numbingly slow with lots of talk and very little shooting. But it was one of the most helpful shooting videos I've ever watched.

Not what you asked for. But, I find this important.

 

The difference in techniques is amazing.

I’m more like this guy. I call it “high Speed Bullseye shooting”. It’s kind of old school. Gunsite, Jeff Cooper era. I’m pulling the trigger, quickly. But, a perfect trigger press for every shot.

Rob Latham slaps the trigger. But, his hand doesn’t move. There’s no way guys like Leatham, Miculek etc are actually doing smooth controlled trigger pulls with .15 splits. There’s just not enough time.

I’m trying to teach myself to jerk the trigger. Without moving the gun. And trying to unlearn 40 years of “front sight, press the trigger”.

It’s hard to do.

I’ve got accuracy down pat. I can hit an IDPA target at 100 with a 1911. But, Rob would be doing a mag change while I was getting my third shot off at 7 yards.

You can watch TV and practice
Put a dot on the wall and aim and squeeze the trigger. Where you place your finger is more important I think. Good luck be safe.

 

I personally like the way todd jarret explains it.

 

A laser boresight cartridge and a bullseye target at 7 yards allows you to quickly learn to work the trigger without moving the gun. Focus on the laser dot and not the sights as you work the trigger.
