I looking to purchase a walther g22 for plinking. I plan on putting some type of red dot scope on the top rail. Does anybody have any experience with this model? the price I was quoted was $380. Also are there red dots that such as 2x or 4x?

I got one a coupla months ago. Cleaned it when I first got and I'm now into 2500 rnds without cleaning, just the occasional drops of lube. Shooting Winchester Dynapoints. When you take it apart be aware that there are 2 springs that like to eject themselves from the gun. Read the instructions carefully on disassembly and note the parts that they say might "drop out". Other than the 2 springs flying about, there's nothing wrong with this gun. It's solid and shoots accurate. I have a Ultradot 4 on mine so I can adjust the dot size for the distance I"m shooting. I also put on a Knights Armament broomhandle on the front. I'm able to get under 2" group offhand with the reddot at 25yards. I'm sure I could do better with magnified glass and a bench, but I set it up as a plinker. The trigger is decent, nothing to write home about. You have should have no worries buying the G22 except how you're gonna get the money to keep feeding it. $380 sounds about right.

nice setup

Sactown, thank you for your reply. Does your red dot have 4x? Also the Knights Armament broomhandle do you think it is easier to shoot with? how much does it cost? thank you

My reddot has no magnification, but you can change how big the dot is. The broomhandle makes it fun to shoot, but for accuracy testing offhand I shoot with it off (that's why you never see high-power shooters with foregrips on their rifles). My dealer threw in the grip because he had a bunch in his storeroom that he had collcting dust (not much use for broomhandles in Kali since there was nothing to really put it on).
