Looks like some interesting rifles are getting dropped by CZ today...

Hearing the 527 is going away makes me sad, I really want two more. I missed out on the 550 FS I wanted, then the 550 magnum went away. Now the micro Mauser?! What is a CRF fan to do. That 600 trail is kinda cool though.
It is sad, for some reason I've had the worst luck trying to get cz rifles, same here with the 550 fs didn't have money when I seen one or when I did stupid things would prevent me from getting one. Took me 3 trys to get my 527 carbine. And was looking for a 375 550m but never worked out.

I don't like the crf guns are going away, it's more then there history of reliability they just feel right and give you a warm fuzzy feeling if that makes sense.

The trail looks intriguing, so weird, but might make a neat little pack rifle. I agree they could have gone with a lighter profile on what appears to be a mini pack rifle and saved a little weight.

It's so strange that CZ is ditching the 6.5 Grendel and picking up the 224 Valk.... But not in the Trail or Range... And no 6.5 CM or .223 available in the Range, just a bunch of weird choices. Maybe these are just the initial offerings, soon to be augmented.

If the stock on the Trail isn't wobbly and the cheek piece works out, I'd pick one up quick in 6mm ARC or maybe 6.5 Grendel. .223 is a bit stunted, especially in a 7 twist, by the STANAG mags.

For going with aluminum receivers, they didn't really wind up with particularly light rifles. Lastly, they got the threading right for the American market except for the Lux which is Euro spec for some reason.

So I guess there are at least 3 different receiver types that are being lumped in under the "600" moniker. The Range and Lux have steel receivers while the Trail and Alpha have aluminum receivers of different designs.

Also I don't see it on the CZ site, but one of the videos mentioned that the Alpha the presenter was holding had a two bolt quick change barrel system? Do the steel receivers use the same system, and would it be pre-headspaced from the factory like modern custom action Prefits? Also in a video, it looks like the Trail cheek piece is not very well located for actually use, the shooter in the vid had his cheek half on, half off, looked pretty uncomfortable.

I like that the barrels are nitrided, but I guess that might make them harder to get cut and rethreaded after the fact.

Edit: Should have read more closely earlier in the thread, been covered.

Double Edit: I think the accuracy guarantees in this review are wrong, and it looks like the Ergo version, which is the lightest with an offering under 6 lb, isn't coming to America.

The sighting radius on the Lux is rather comical.

I get having a barrel mounted rear sight for optics, but unless you’re fitting the Hubble space telescope to what looks designed as a handy field rifle, they could’ve moved the rear sight back several inches with tons of room for even high magnification hunting optics.

Idiocy! The 527 Carbine is one of their most successful products ever. There must be some mistake... I hope. According to the CZ-USA site, the 22" barrel 527 American is being discontinued as well. I just bought one of those in 7.62x39 this year... manufacture date January 2021, so it was brand spakin' new. Glad I got it when I did. It's a tack driver. Time to make a call to CZ-USA and find out the whys and what fors.

Well anyway, I'm sue there will be plenty of 527s New-in-Box floating around for some years to come.

cz has been hinting about for years now, think there even was a video of a higher up at vs saying last year there axing the 527. They will be $1500 on gb watch.

To be honest my first reaction in seein the new 600 series was "Meh" at best, and "guess im not buying a new CZ" at worst.
After doing some looking tho I do like the features the rifle series offers. Ill add one of the mediums or minis to my list of wants....If they come out with a 6.5Grendel or 6 arc mini in a more traditional set up ill be all over that.
I liked my 527, but disliked how stiff it was with the Grendels nearly straight case.....mine also wasnt particularly accurate. If these new guns can better that ill be content.

The trail might make a good supressor host if it has a threaded barrel (which I can't tell from pics or website).

I don't know why but the Trail appeals to me.

Be cause it is short, fairly lightweight, threaded, and looks Extremely handy *if* that cheek rest is useable and comfortable. Also, if it will be offered in Grendel and/Arc. At least that's why it appeals to me.

Yep. I think I need something more useful and interesting than .223 and 7.62 Rooshan. Grendel or Creedmoor would do it.

I like it. A 6.5 creedmoor may be in my future or a 6mm ARC if they ever get around to it. Aluminum receiver with interchangeable barrels and barrel receiver extension is an awesome innovation to bring to the bolt action market. Now we just need to get other manufactures on board to build other guns with CZ pattern barrel fitment and we can finally have the true modularity and open market we enjoy in the AR15 world.
