Lou Dobbs on gun control.

I just finished watching Lou Dobbs of CNN on CBS this morning. He did an excellent job of pointing out all of the flaws in more restrictive gun laws and the already strict current laws. He discussed the states and DC with their kneejerk laws on the books as the biggest failures in protecting the citizens from crime. He also came across, and stated bluntly, what the 2nd means to the issue.

Way to go Lou Dobbs.

I never imagined anyone from CNN as pro 2a especially on CBS.

I like Lou Dobbs, even though he is right and I'm left he seems honest (I like his book about the war on the middle class) and I respect almost any man who is honest about his opinion (the only exceptions being people like the KKK or NAMBLA, and I still respect their right to free speach but find what they say disgusting.)

And now I like what Lou is saying about gun control, I like that he forms his own opinions instead of falling in line with a party all the time. So even though I disagree with him on a good bit of stuff I watch his show often.

Even better, that means people are changing their minds on this.

I'd rather see someone switch sides than hear from the same old people over and over.

Afaik,

Dobbs has always been pretty pro-RKBA. He says so in a couple of his books and over the air. He's hard to pin down politically, right on osme things, left on others. He's probably more populist than anything else. Owns a farm in northern NJ. IIRC, his wife was busted a few years ago with a handgun in her purse at Newark Airport (I'm assuming she had a CCW, as they ware well politically connected).

I heard this morning's spot aired by CBS, a two minute interview with some female speaking head. He said the right things, and his delivery was impeccable (as it should be).

I agree that it's good to hear that he is standing up for RKBA.

I once saw him argue that "no one needs a semi-automatic shotgun" and that a .22 was good enough for him to hunt pheasants when he was a kid. I have not watched him since.

I can appreciate a man who is honest and learns. Maybe I will have to watch him again.

I saw this too and was pleasently surprised, simply because I'm on the lookout for pro RKBA advocates.

I first starting watching anything from CNN about a year ago. Lou has become the only significant media voice that I have any respect for when it comes to major networks.

On basic principle I find myself in his corner more often than not, and in particular his voice and thoughts on illegals, and the war on the middle class. A breath of fresh air among the stench of the usual media whores that broadcast the propaganda that they try to pass as news. Typically the "News" has gotten less & less about information and more about spreading their way of thinking.

I still say Lou needs to be watched...carefully. He refers to Libertarianism as "Fatalism" with respect to free markets. I think he needs to decide whether he is for freedom as a rule, or just the ones that strike his fancy.

Lou as a money matters person was fine.. As a pro-gun he seems fine.. As an open boarders non-support - he is good.. Other then that - I really don't know. On the surface, it looks good. After all he's a CNN kind of person..
