loudest gun you own?

My Model 415 Taurus .41 Magnum with 2 1/2", ported barrel.

Just about as loud are a couple of safe queens that howl in indignation from the dark recesses of my safe when I head to the range with a couple of their more privileged stable-mates. :)

Here goes:

22 Magnum Mini Revolver. This thing is just loud for some reason. Probably the short barrel.

My S&W 442. Shot this thing with a .38 special +p without hearing protection the first time. Never doing that again. My right ear was ringing for a week. Thing is louder than a 12 gauge. Probable the loudest single noise Ive heard in my lifetime.

Quick question, what is the second handle on the top of that Serbu super shorty used for? Don't understand, can anyone enlighten me?

Normally I have a red dot scope on my Shorty, but then everyone asks me "why do you have a scope on a Serbu Super Shorty?" The answer is because I can print about 3" groups at 25 yards. Less if I don't flinch.

So sometimes I put a vertical foregrip on it so people can ask about that instead.

Not mine.....but the loudest gun I've ever heard was a CIWS 20mm Phalanx.
A friend and myself were got to witness a 2 second test fire while overseas. My friend says "Dude, I dare you to take your earpro off....." So me, being young and dumb, slid my earsmuffs off my ears and pulled out my ear plugs (double hearing protection was required).

We were about 30 feet from the gun just off the side of the muzzle.

When that thing went off it actually made my knees wobble and made my mouth water like I was going to puke. If youve ever been punched so hard that you were almost K.O.'d thats how I felt. I think I almost saw stars for a split second.

My Ruger Super Blackhawks in 44 mag. With my hunting loads I've been known to make folks on my side of the range jump - and the rest of the people usually look. About 1 in 3 trips to the range, I get the "what IS that?!" question.

I've got a couple 12 ga shotguns and a 20 ga, but I gotta say my winchester 94 .30-30 with a 20" bbl is absolutely painful to shoot without plugs.

45-70 with a muzzlebreak

followed by my 300 win mag with a break. damn sure head turners when i fire one off at the range under the metal roof with the concrete floor and concrete tables....................I love it

guess thats why they call me Maytag.......... I am the agitator on the human washing machine. besides we all have had white taters, red taters, irish taters, sweet taters but nothing beats a agitater.

Rats, FMJMike beat me to it. My PSL is a big boomer. With that 7.62x54R round and very efficient muzzle brake up front, it BOOMS. My father's SP101 snubby is also quite loud, and makes a very impressive fireball with full-power .357 loads. =)

M44 ftw!!! I was at the outdoor range, and the boom went straight up hit the roof and came back down... even with hearing protection my ears are still ringing today! ... Whats that? ; ) -Chris-

Any gun fired indoors without protection. I think after a certain level it doesn't matter. A 38 fired in an apartment will have your head spinning for hours. My ears shut down after the first shot, 30 years ago, I hope to never have to hear another.

My NAA Super Companion, with 4 gr of 777, strangely enough that's louder than 2gr of bullseye, A close second is my Dad's 20 gauge Howdah. I think the NAA minis and companions seem louder cause they are just that much closer than bigger guns. Still my ROA turns heads at the range. BP has a different sound to it than quicker powders they crack a little sharper[smokeless], BP is a thump, slower, deeper somehow. IMHO FWIW
