I have been looking around for a 9mm pistol for cc and have rented a few at the range. Several of you suggested a CZ75. I rented one about a month ago and it really didn't do much for me. I have also rented a couple of Glocks; 19, 26 and I really liked the 19. The 26 was just too small to be comfortable for me to shoot. I have also owned a couple of 9's that just didn't fit. A Ruger P95 and a Star Ultrastar.

Well, I went to the range this past Sat. and looked around the case to see what was available to rent. There was the CZ, a Beretta, and a Sig. 226? They also had the two Glocks that I had previously rented.

I knew that I could not afford to buy one, but I thought it might be fun to rent the Sig. I had never even held a Sig until Sat, but have always kinda wanted one. Well I get the Sig and put 50 rounds through it and was very dissapointed by it. It just didn't fit my hand too well and I couldn't hit very well with it. I took it back to the counter and was going to get the Beretta, but something told me to give the CZ another look. I got it and went back to the range. I really familiarized myself with this pistol before loading up and shooting this time. I took a good long look at it and the way it felt in my hand. And, when the shooting started, I think I fell in love! I am strongly considering the CZ75 now!

I am left handed and I do not care for cocked and locked carry, so which model has the decocker and is it ambi? I guess I could use it if the decocker was not ambi, but I really would prefer it to be.

It is amazing how using something else that doesn't fit your hand just right and then coming back to the overlooked model will change someone's perspective.

Kinda like shooting my 1911, then shooting my P-89, then going back to my 1911. I like the P-89 and it was my first gun, but I love my 1911's!!!:)

I have read where a lot of lefties prefer the model 85 Combat. I'm not sure exactly why but if you are looking at the full size models, check it out. As regards to the decocker models, look for D in the model name. Two I know of that are decocker models are the compact PCR and it's newer cousin the P01.
I have had the PCR model since it first came out and it has never disappointed me. I shoot it the best off all my other guns and it was the least exspensive.
Hope that helps.

How much easier is it to conceal the compact over the full size 75? The full size doesn't really seem all that big. I did put it in my waistband to try to get an idea about cc. (This was done after I had finished shooting and the gun was empty.) But I didn't have a chance to sit down with it and I know a holster will make a big difference.

I have a 85 combat, while it does not have a decocker I have never found that to be a problem. I manually decock and carry it as a DA/SA most of the time. When I'm shooting IDPA then it's C&L. Love having the option. Yes it is my primary carry piece, I have no diffaculty with concealing it in an OWB holster. And yes the 80 series CZ's are fully ambi.
