A buddy showed me his Granddad's revolver yesterday, asked what it's worth. It's a Colt Police Positive, marked .32 Special on the barrel. It is absolutely mint; I see no bluing wear at all and the markings are quite crisp. The bore is immaculate. My friend remembers it well from childhood and believes his Granddad never fired it. Any idea of its worth?

To answer your question more information is needed. First, a full description of the markings on the side of the barrel, and second the serial number, which will be found on the side of the frame behind the crane. Swing out the cylinder and you can see it. Also, are the grips made out of black hard rubber, or checkered walnut?

I wouldn't even consider selling a gun that's been in the family that long, especially in that condition.
I have a Colt Police Positive in .38 Spl, 4" barrel, walnut grips, at least 98% or better factory finish. It was made in 1932. It is very tight and lockup is like a bank vault. I don't think I'll ever sell it, no matter how much it's worth. I wouldn't feel undergunned carrying it every day.
P.S. The trigger is amazing. This is a working, everyday, standard, no frills revolver and the fit, lockup, and trigger beats the living crap out of anything I've seen coming out of Colt or S&W's custom shop.
