I got this in an email from Gunstop Reloading up in MN:
Lyman has lowered the price of their Apex 10 Presses. The MSRP is now 2499.99 with a MAP of $2249.99. They have an added incentive of a free Apex 10 Toolhead with purchase of a Apex 10 press. This is open ended offer till Lyman exhausts their supply for the incentive program.

Gunstop is listing them for $2249.99. Looks like they will ship it free to the lower 48 too. Sounds like a pretty good deal for someone interested in one of these.

Gunstop is legit, BTW. I've been to their store several times, and got my Dillon RL1100 from them.

I can also vouch for Gunstop. I lived in Minneapolis for about 20 years, and Gunstop was THE place to buy all your reloading supplies, and a lot of good advice. Great prices and great service. When shopping for reloading supplies, I am often saddened because there is no place in Canada that can compare to Gunstop.

The Apex is a good system at this point, now that the bugs have all been worked out. It is THE consumer level 10 station press these days. They are also nice because you can start with a complete system that works very well, but it is designed to be fully compatible with automation if that's a future upgrade one might desire. I will also say, the Mark 7 support is top notch, great bunch of guys. The biggest con is the same as with anybody's 10 station press...the calibers available are minimal, think 10 most popular or so. I expect that will change over time with more aftermarket support, but nobody will ever touch the number of calibers Dillon supports.

It definitely got my attention. That price is very comparable to the original SHOT Show price for the Evolution.

I wonder if they are trying to create some pricing room between the Apex and the new Genesys, 12 station press...which is very aggressively priced at $6k including the autodrive

@9mmepiphany Just a minor correction, the Genesys is a 10 station press, the new Titan has 12 stations.

The lower price on the Apex was always a goal of ours- happy to see it go down. It's an amazing progressive press that is built for the long haul. Some of the round counts on Apex's out there are way up there and still going strong.

I work for Mark 7/Lyman. If people have questions, I will do my best to answer them.

I'm definitely not a reloading penny pincher, but the brake even point with that initial investment is many moons. Ones consumption needs to be way up there for this to make sense to me....

The Revolution, Evolution and Apex have 12 calibers listed- we have done custom caliber conversions depending on OAL and such.

And there's overlap on what you list: Like 41 Magnum will work with your 45 ACP shell plate and the case feeder conversion parts for 44/45. 44-40 will work with your 44 Magnum shell plate. There's a few others like that. You made a custom 45-70 kit for somebody once upon a time that I know of.

I would really like to see you guys actually list the custom caliber conversions you've made over the years on your website, with a price point, and a waiting time....because if one person wanted it, other's probably will too, and once you've done the dev work, you might as well make it available for others.

@EricBu I agree with you. Will see who I can poke to get that information up on the site.

Some of the other custom calibers that we've done include 8.6blk, 6.5x55 swede, 6.5 grendel, 6mm ARC, 6mm dasher, 6mm GT, 6.8 SPC, 30-30 and 45-70.

I’m not in the market for one, but that’s an awesome deal. I’m currently loading on an 8 station press and I can tell you having two more stations would not be a problem.

Are you referring to the thread about birthing issues with the Evolution/Revolution?

Those issues were all addressed with the Apex 10...they don't even have the same number of parts
No……
It was referencing the fact that a certain red press needed to be fine tuned by the members here in a multiple page thread…..
If you didn’t pick up on the joke, then nevermind….

Okay, I'll admit to missing the "joke"

But how can referrencing a thread about a "Red" press possibly have any bearing on "how to fix" a completely different press?
Or was it a completely Off Topic comment?

My bad......
Doesn't matter what color the press was.
Just pointing out the fact to @EricBu that they didn't need a bunch of amatuers fixing the press for them...........
Again.........if you didn't pick up on the joke, then feel free to disregard my statement...........

Yeah, I knew YOU would.............. :p
Haha. The humor fits with my opinions on progressive presses. Dillon is like a 60s era bumpside Ford F100. Not real efficient, not high tech, but runs forever with nothing but a little oil and grease. Lee is like buying a kit car...it may or may not be fantastic...based on the mechanical ability of the buyer. Like kit cars in the 80s and 90s, lots of used ones with low hours on the market where people gave up on them. Mark 7 is like a lamborghini....looks hot, costs more than anything else, and runs like a raped ape. But you have to maintain it, keep it tuned, and never skip maintenance. Frankfurt Arsenal remains to be seen... I'm guessing they will end up much like buying a Chinese dirtbike at Pep Boys...seemed like a good deal until the bottom end blows up and you can't find parts for it anywhere...so you double down and buy another one and ultimately end up with one running and one in a crate, but only because your neighbor feels bad for your kid and keeps wrenching on it for you. At some point you'll add up your costs and discover you've spent more than if you'd just bought your kid a Honda to begin with. YMMV.

My mistake. I think I picked that up in a video and was too impressed to catch that detail between the Gensys and the Titan
No worries :) Both are impressive.

Just wanted to add that a lot of our dealers are selling the Apex's at MAP. I can direct people to dealers nearby to them if that helps.

We also have our showroom in FL where you can view our machines. I can also set up viewings in CT as well.

Too late for me.

Ordered mine from Grafs yesterday. Been kicking myself for missing the original offering, since then. Couldn't quite pull the trigger at the Apex intro pricing . Availability at MAP with free shipping was enough to tip the scales.
