I was going to say the CMP but dang their sold out except for some spec. ones. I see they still have some Garands if you're interested. Other than that try the gun auctions.

I have a Garand and love it. I just want more carbs in my diet. Looking for two or three more in good cond. Also have a 7.5" Ruger blackhawk .30carb.

And Very, Very accurate. Looking for 15rnd clips too.. the more the better, can tape them together. Garand likes to spit it's clips at my forehead, but it sounds neat when they come out.

you may know all this already, but:
I would guess you should look to pay 600 for a usgi in decent condition, and up from there. the fewer made by a particular manufacturer the more they cost. inlands are cheaper than rock-ola's for example.
as far as the commercial guns go, avoid universal. plainfields should run 425 or so. iver johnson's are hit and miss (so I hear) and should run 375-ish.
they're a great fun gun, and capable enough with a soft or hollow point bullet. think .357, not 30-06. IMHO they are overpriced. if they drop by half or to where they were 8 years ago I will buy another.

Well, there is a reason they want that much for them, but I do tend to not buy much at gun shows. They our like "carni's" and all know what every other seller has for sell and travel in packs from one town to the next. Hard to get a "real" deal at one. There has to be some good carbs. out there for a reasonable price. Shooters, not wall hangers.

CMP still has Service Grade Inlands and several brands of Rack Grade. Some more Winchesters go on sale tomorrow but will probably sell out since they're Winchesters.
The CMP carbines are going to have some cosmoline on them and may need to have their stocks refinished, which isn't that hard to do if you enjoy that kind of thing.
Finding a GI carbine for less than $600 now-a-days is pretty tough. Stick with GI. All will have been made during WWII and most likely gone through an arsenal overhaul since then.
