Anyone have one, experience with one? Im looking for a compact striker fired 45, saw one in the case and thought it looked and felt nice in the hand.

Just looking for some first hand info on the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Thanks

I love mine. The only flaw with m&p's for me is the triggers range from kinda ok to awful from the factory. If you get one and the trigger is not to your liking, you can do some apex tactical upgrades on it.

Also, look at the xgrip adapters.

I used to have an M&P 45 midsize which I also liked, but the full size grip was harder to conceal. I sold it, bought the compact and some xgrip adapters.

Now, when I conceal I use the normal 8rd magazines, but when I OC it I use the 10rd full size magazines and the xgrip adapters so it is effectively the midsize again.

M&P compact....

I purchased a NIB M&P .45acp compact in 2013.
I liked it. It shot very well & had 0 problems with feeding-cycle of .45acp ammunition.
I carried it both CCW(Blackhawk SERPA) & open. It conceals well & is easy to service/clean.
I got a factory 10rd .45acp to carry as a spare. It fed & worked fine in the compact. I considered the larger M&P 14rd .45acp mag but that was a bit longer then I needed.
The stock sights were okay but I considered after market fixed night sights like Trijicon HD(green-orange).
Some gunners and armed officers suggest the polymer trigger Apex Tactical system for M&Ps. I would consider it too but the factory M&P trigger was fine for my uses.
I gave the .45acp pistol to my friend as a gift in 11/2013 but would buy or carry another M&P .45acp in the future.
He later added a Novak adj rear night sight to the M&P compact.
For cleaning/service, Id suggest either FrogLube, Ballistol or LPX(Mpro7). A BoreSnake viper cleaner or Otis Ripcord barrel cleaner may help speed up cleaning. Break-through Clean or Hoppes #9 Synthetic can help prevent rust/wear in the barrel.

I had one and went back to my Glock 30. I tried but could not shoot as well with the M&P. I tried the various backstrap options, but just couldnt find one that worked for me.

I've got one that I like. I've put TFX sights on it, that's the only change. The trigger isn't nearly as nice as my M&P 9c, but has smoothed out quite a bit after a couple thousand dry firings. I swap between the two for carry, though I tend to prefer the 9c since it's lighter.

I had one, it was reliable and shot well. It didn't impress me so much that I held onto it, though. Not long after that I got a Beretta 8045 so I have no plans to go back.

Using one for a bedside gun. Added Ameriglo I-Dot Pro night sights and a Streamlight TLR4 light/laser. My only complaint about the pistol would be the trigger. The break is a little spongy and the reset can barely be heard or felt. I understand an Apex hard sear will correct that shortfall. Other than that, it's reliable, shoots good and points naturally for me. Good shooting.

I added the Apex sear and polymer trigger to my 45c. It helped a lot but didn't do anything much for the reset.
