I know it probably seems counter-intuitive, buying a gun set up for competition and turning it into a carry gun, but I have for a while wanted a carry gun equipped with a RDS. Since I carry a M&P compact right now, the full-size would be fairly similar, and the new Pro C.O.R.E comes with the slide ready to accept a RDS (including suppressor sights standard).

Weighing the cost of a M&P with a complete APEX kit + getting slide milled (shipping and work) + suppressor sights vs. getting the CORE + AEK trigger + possibly a few APEX parts, the latter seems to be the better option price-wise (plus I think there's a few other perks to the Pro that are not present in the standard M&P).

In my M&P 9C, I got the following parts to fix the following problems:
Spring Kit: balance the pull to an acceptable level for accuracy while keeping it safe.
RAM: make the reset more distinct.
Sear + Striker Block: fix the grittiness and sponginess of the trigger.
AEK Trigger: replace the hinged trigger.

I know I would want the AEK trigger, but what about the other parts? The Pro is supposed to have a nice trigger already, but I think at the minimum I'd want the spring kit just to adjust the pull weights to be a bit heavier. Is the RAM necessary in the Pro? How about the Sear+Block?

I carry a 9 Pro series at work every night. My back-up is a 9 compact. My compact has the APEX duty kit in it. It is a much better trigger than the Pro Series trigger.

So would you just recommend I get the whole kit I got for my compact when/if I get a pro?

On the S&W site it says there are parts to make the reset distinct. Does that mean the RAM would be superfluous? What other parts would be unecessary?

At the minimum I'm thinking spring kit and AEK trigger, but I want to know what all I should get.

Maybe I just need to wait until I buy it to decide.
