M&P Shield vs Walther PPS and G26

Character assassination? What?

I was pointing out most Americans work in the service industry. Since you have to be 21 or older to carry a hand gun, it would be safe to say most of those workers wear dress pants.

A 26 is not fitting in dress pants all day every day. If you do, you probably aren't looking very professional that a 1 pound 6 inch long 5 inch across item isn't being noticed in your pants.

I think it would be safe to say that you are assuming WAAAY too much.

If you have any data to back up what you're saying...please provide it.

I work for a company that is primarily providing a service to consumers. Dress attire is docker style or dress slacks. ie Professional or business casual.

I'm a 30-32" size in waist.

I can carry.. and have carried my MP9c in my pocket with out anyone knowing many many times. Its the wieght thats the worst part.

Open your mind a little and branch out in the clothing brands and you too can have another option.

Or... you can keep critqueing a gun for not being pocketable even though S&W never indicated that it was trying to make a pocketable gun.

boricua9mm said it best:

The Shield is a gun that makes me want to get excited but still leaves me hoping for something that is truly and measurably better to come along.

I love the M&P line of pistols, and I'm sure that the Shield is a fine piece. But, for as long as the CCW world has been waiting for one of the major manufacturers to come out with a better small, light, single stack 9mm, I agree with those who have stated that the wait shall continue.

I own an LC9 and a Keltec P3AT and I looked at the only Shield I could find in the area. The Shield is, in my opinion a great gun as far as size compared to the LC9 and has a much better trigger. i will be traded the LC9 towards it. If I wanna carry in the pocket the Keltec is the go to gun without question. I would not carry either the LC9 or the Shield in a pocket, they are just too big.

Surprised the XD subcompacts have not been included in this thread?
My main CCW has been an XDSC - I've been eyeballing a slim 9mm for a while -need something a bit easier to conceal for summer carry.
Didn't think I'd really be interested in the SHIELD, but after handling at the shop, here it sits. :banghead:

I kinda view the XDSC and SHIELD as different animals.
Not that familiar with the Glock (I'm just not a Glock person), but the G26 appears to be a bit shorter (but no slimmer) than the XDSC.

^ Seeing as the XDs is starting out as .45 only, and it's close to the same size as a PM9, I'm betting next year Springer will put out an XDs in 9mm...and maybe that'll be even smaller than a PM9.

If I were Kahr I'd be quaking in my boots.

All of these single stack 9mm guns are starting to get difficult to keep up on. Lol

The XDs 9mm is what I'm super siked about. Ambi mag release and grip safety sold it for me. Can't wait until they release more info on it.
