Recently I lucked into a Shield. Nice gun.

Due to tearing both my shoulders, shooting anything more than a light 22 pistol is a chore.
I have shot the Shield a couple times and it's a keeper.

Several ladies I'm helping with their shooting have shot the gun and all like it.
One is very good with the gun and intends buyng the first one she sees

So as far as the recoil issue, these ladies have no problem with it at all.

My buddy has a Shield; I have a 9c. I would shoot and carry both before you make a purchase. In a good IWB holster, you can barely tell the difference in the two (of course, I normally carry a Glock 29 so maybe I'm desensitized to the thickness.)

I think the 9c feels better in the hand, holds more rounds, and carries just as well as the Shield. Both are excellent guns though.

My preference is theMP9c. Very controllable recoil, concealable and reliable.
    12 v 6 rds also. I have rethought buying a mini-.380 numerous times b/c of
the MP9c. It's not a pocket pistol per se but it fills my need.

Shooting the Shield again today. Can't think of anything I'd change about it.
But of course I'm not a pro.

Although I do have three Glocks.
Don't carry them though, use them as car guns.

    That is funny.:D
