I have a Military M1 carbine that I'd like to put a sling and oiler on. Problem is when I try to snap the oiler in place it so tight it won't go. I realise it needs to be snug enough so it doesn't fall out but not this tight. Any suggestions?

To properly install the sling you place the oiler in the slot and thread the sling around the oiler.
