M1 Garand

Received my M1 Garand today from CMP, only eighteen days for the entire process.

My M1 has a metal disk attached to the left side of the stock with two sets of graduations from 0 to 60, the disk is raised off the stock about 1/8th of an inch and there are two notches in the perimeter. Does anyone know what this is?

Part of the grenade launching sights (the base). Nice bonus, you won't find this a lot.
