Putting this in Rifles, if it's the wrong place one of the other mods can scold me and move to accessories, but since it comes with the rifle.....

Found it in a box today unopened. Came with my Fulton M14 years ago and I never even looked at it. Now I'm curious.

Anyone know how the heck this thing is supposed to be used? :) Where are the Marines to help me out, I am sure some of you have spent more time with this contraption than you ever wanted to.

is it designed to go around the bolt guide roller thinggy? ???

No I have that piece, it's different. I think Jeremy2171 has it right, I just don't know what goes in which end. One section is small with short "spatula", the other is bigger.

Grease in the small one? Thanks for the help so far.

Mine didn't come with one.

Mine was in the stock with the cleaning kit when I got the rifle, but that was many years ago.

Small end if for rifle grease, large end holds rifle bore cleaner.
Don't put modern solvents in these containers as the newer cleaners are designed to dissolve shotgun wad fouling and will eat these plastic containers in no time at all.
