Back in the summer 2008 standard M1As were around $1250 new, Loadeds, SOCOMs, and Scouts were around $1600. Used Standards were going for about $900-$1200 depending how many USGI parts were present. I have no idea what the prices are now but give it some time and they will get back to normal. M1A's were never banned during the AWB and you can buy them in every ban state today even CA. So I would say unless you find a deal wait it out.

I got my new, in-box standard for 1200, about a month ago. I had to 'know somebody' to get that price, and unfortunately that was a one-time only deal. They can be had for that, but, I'm also a good digger, that knows other good diggers.

    good luck!,

I got a new Loaded Standard in walnut for $1650. I'd love to get a scout. I think the "problem" is that the number of M1A's produced by Springfield in a year is pretty low.

Yeah everyone talks about them like they are a huge company like Bushmaster or Remington but I bet their output is much lower than people think. Even during normal times they never were super abundant.
