Is this type of wear normal on M1As?

Yes,kinda normal.It's from trying to install the trigger group (500 times)without looking at it very closely and screwing it up.I take a little file to them every now and then and clean up the edges.

If you file a slight bevel at the start of the slot it well help with alignment.
