Haha. I 90% think I already know the answer, but does anyone know the legalities of owning an M203 with an M4A1 in Alaska or how to go about owning one? Or where/if you could even buy/have 40mm HE rounds?

Man oh man. I feel like I'm asking "Is it legal to tie up an innocent person and kill them?"

But yeah. Anyone?

Thanks.

it's totally cool but it's a niche thing, very expensive and no explosive rounds. looks like there would be other legal hurdles with the large caliber and short barrel.

if you're just in it for looks I think the airsoft versions aren't bad and look like they could hook on to a real AR without too much trouble at all.

essentially though, it looks like all it adds functionally is a large underbarrel weight to tame the mighty recoil of .223 ;)

37mm underbarrel tear gas launcher = OK in some places.

40mm greande launcher = Destructive device and rigidly controlled. Each grenade also = destructive device. Would be very pricey to shoot if you aren't a class 3/military dealer.

Perfectly legal as long as you are in a NFA destructive device ok state. You just pay the $200 transfer tax to ATF and wait a few months for them to approve the transfer to you before you can take possession.

The ammo however is harder to come by. Each explosive round is also a DD and also has a $200 transfer tax and you go through the same approval and transfer process as the launcher itself. Plus most vendors that sell the HE rounds simply will not do business with a civilian even if it is perfectly legal.

The blue chalk practice rounds go for around $20 a pop I think and you can reload them. They aren't destructive devices and you can buy those from anyone that has them for sale.

Is there anyone who will?
