Hey everyone, New to the site hoping to find some knowledge on a topic no one seems to have answers to.
I purchased a M57 Tokarev from Classic Firearms, it arrived cosmo covered and was quickly taken apart and cleaned.
1st issue- Everything came apart without issue except for the pin in the top that holds the extractor. I've seen in every video and diagram that the pin comes out(from inside the slide out) but no amount of cleaning, ultrasonic or mineral spirits could free this pin. I've had it sent back from 3 gunsmiths saying its weird & they've tried their best, short of drilling it out & replacing it they wouldn't worry about it. That has become my plan but things to be on the look out for as its a prime part of the gun & has not been fully checked and cleaned just concerns me a bit.
Issue 2- After all was cleaned and put back together.. I had the hardest time getting the follower in the magazine to go back and it still catches when pressed down in the mag. Also once it was in its best condition of moving freely, I put everything back together.
Now the magazine will not go fully back into place, unless the slide is locked back. Once its locked back and mag is fully seated, the slide will not close no matter what.
Any information on what I may have done wrong, things to check or just something I may not know about this tokarev variant would be greatly appreciated!
