M855 velocity from the 14.5"?

Downrange, trying to get the actual velocity of M855 from the 14.5" bbl of the M4 carbine. Book is 2970, which seems a bit high.

I get a muzzle velocity of 2750 from my suppressed 11.5" Contender pistol.
