I just was wondering I have a couple mags with malfuctioning followers one started coming out and one is pointing strait up and stuck in the magazine itself. What followers could I replace them with and is there any really good follower that will fits into almost any common 1911 magazine? Also Should I use polymer or metal follower replacements, Because my wilsons seem very good? What is the the best overall follower replacement?

I think we need to know what type magazines you are saying are having problems.

The original/conventional style 7-rd steel follower is very reliable. if one has come through the top, it sounds like the feed lips failed and spread and it's not a follower problem. The springs are directional and if the other one is stuck in the tube like that, it sounds like the spring was in backwards and lost control of the follower.

There is one 7rd shooting star, one kimber 8 round and I have an SA that wont hold back the slide when empty. the only one that seems to work flawlessly is the wilson combat 8 and ten rounders that I have and they have never failed.
