HK AR magazine with a black metal anti tilt follower. This sucker was expensive at $53 after the tax. I don't care for HK's policies, but I figured I would give one a go to see how it compares since I have heard nothing but good about them.

But the thing I don't get, is that this does not say LE ONLY, it says Made In Germany, and it accepts 30 rounds.

I thought even hi cap magazines were banned from import, not just rifles that can accept them?

Well, all my rifle magazines are "high cap" (read, standard capacity for that rifle). I have 8 Galil magazines and 20 FN FAL mags.

Your money would have be better spent buying $15 PMAGS.

Magpul: Because you like good affordable mags and we like you.

H&K: Because you suck and we hate you, but we will sell you overpriced mags.

HK mags can be had for under $40 now, i forget the place.

Still over rated and over priced. Don't get me wrong, when I first saw the HK AR mags I had to get some. They seemed to be the best thing to happen to AR mags, until the PMAG. And yes I know that PMAGs had some problems when they were first produced, but they fixed it and will replace any bad mag for free.

I will check out Pmags. I was going to get a Colt too since a place online has them for $18 shipped if I recall, and also a NHMTG since they supply the big name AR companies...curious if its only the floor plate that is different.

But to the legal question, what gives with the import law on this? Part of HK's deal with law enforcement? You want our MP5s, we want lax restrictions? Hi-cap AK mags can no longer be imported I thought? I also thought the reason the gray UMP45 thing HK makes for civilian importation only comes with 10 round mags because of import laws.

You can still get High Cap AK mags... plenty of people selling them from foreign countries into the USA..

Even the BATFE told me I could get Russian AK mags for "Personal Use Only"...

AFAIK, importation of magazines has NEVER been restricted. Only importation of "nonsporting" firearms.

The Feinstein ban 1994-2004 didn't restrict importation of full-capacity magazines either, as long as they were manufactured before September 1994 (i.e., practically every 7.62x39mm AK magazine on this planet).
