I have a 15 round mag loaded with 10 rounds at all times, does this weaken the springs performance over a long period of time?

Thats a frequently asked question and the answer is that the thing that weakens springs is usage, the loading and firing (unloading) of mags. If just left loaded, then there won't be any weakening of the springs.

Doesn't anybody ever worry that their recoil spring isn't ever at rest?
Cuz you never see that thread.

EDIT: Obvious question. Why aren't you filling your mag?

Midas, just a guess. He's in California.

Marky, isn't that pushing it a little? I thought the hi-cap mags in cali were a no no. doesn't matter that the mag isn't full charged.

Not if you're the original register owner before the law was passed. However, local range-master ban hi-capacity mags.

ANY spring weakens from repeated use, not from compression.
