If someone knows of a great IWB Makarov holster, please let me know. I do not feel like taking the time to try out different holsters and hope there is a slim one that's easy to find.

Also, anyone ever experience a problem with surplus Makarov magazines? So far, all of mine have held up. Just wondering if the springs have ever needed replacing as I tend to keep all my mags loaded for long periods of time.

My Mak IWB holster was home made :D

I took a super cheap IWB holster I found at a gunshow, cut it down a little with a box cutter, and re-stiched it in a couple places with a sewing machine. What resulted was a great holster for my Mak, and I only spent like $10. It doesn't look pretty, but it works, and is comfortable to wear. The same holster also fits my Star Model "A" 9mm Largo, but it does strech a bit...
 
For my Mak I have been using this IWB made by Eric. It is very well made and comfortable to carry with. You can't go wrong with one of these. It works for a CZ83 or a Makarov. These pictures is taken from his website. I can take a picture of it with my Mak in it if needed.

I have two IWB holsters for my Maks. I had one made by Kramer and it works just fine. Its the cheapest one they make. Very durable with a belt clip. The second one was purchased at www.makarov.com and is a Falco. As described in a previous post it is leather with a thumb break. Very high quality and the price is right.
 
Ive had the Falco holsters and will just add one thing...If your not a thumbbreak guy the holsters have them. I cut them off and refinish that part of the holster. The break is also sharp and tends to poke you in the back...other than that...they are a hell of a bargain. This is coming from a Custom Holster maker.........lol.

Haven't had any problems with the surplus mags, aren't the factory mags really surplus anyways?

For total reliability for carry, I would get some of the carry ones from www.makarov.com
 
Thanks guys for the info. I'll take a look at those falcos and maybe even try to rig my own soon (I would like to leave out the thumbbreak as stated). I did not mean to say all the mags were not surplus, I just wanted to see if any have experienced loss in tension.

By the way...I know these guns are great, but why does anyone feel the need for more than one from each country? I saw a pic on here from someone who had like 12.

Falco IWB

I've used a Falco IWB for over a year. Just the other night when practicing drawing from it I was thinking how nice a holster it is. The only thing I don't like is that there is only one retention strap going around the belt. I'd prefer two straps for more security.

Two straps might also make it fit better with a variety of pants where the belt loops are in different places around the waist. I hate that on some pairs of pants I can place the holster at just the right spot. But, on other pairs I have to place the holster a little in front of or behind my ideal location.
