Quite some time ago, 4 1/2 months to be precise, I decided to spring for some Marschal Grips to dress up my Makarov. I carry it everyday and it's truly one of my favorite pistols as well as utterly reliable so I decided to spruce it up a bit.

I have to say I'm more than pleased with the new grips, they are super quality and well worth the wait in my opinion. These are walnut with the red shellac finish. I obviously went with the checkering and star pattern too. In low light or inside they look almost more brownish maroon but in the sunlight they literally gleam with the red finish. The grips are almost exactly the same thickness as the stock plastic grips and honestly I find them more comfortable as they are a touch more rounded.

Who knew a Mak could look so pretty eh?

Very pretty! I'm looking into picking up a Makarov soon, because they're cheap, reliable, and would make an easy conceal carry. Not that I have an issue concealing my Glock 22, but yeah lol.

Marschal does make a great set of grips. I didn't have to wait as long as you did for yours though. I put a set on an FEG PA63 and a CZ85 Combat. The workmanship is top notch. Yours do set off the Makarov very nicely!

Looks nice!
If it weren't for that wrong-way safety I'd have myself a Mak to carry, the guns are tough and I'm a fan of the round (at least compared to 9x17) I'll have to look into a set of Marschal grips for my other surplus guns one of these days, sometime when the wait won't irritate me as much.

The safety on the Mak works the same way as a 1911, BHP, CZ-75, and a plethora of other guns.

Thanks, yeah, I'm really really happy with it even though it did take a long time.

Marschal has even updated his site saying he's really behind and backordered and to expect a 10-12 week wait. Granted, mine was even longer than that.

BUT, if you have the patience to wait it out you really can't go wrong with these.

I loved my Mak as it was but now I'm really loving it. The upgraded grips really change the entire look of the pistol. It's really more like a custom carry gun than just a plain old milsurp.

I wonder if he would bump a triple order to the top of the list?
CZ52, CZ82, and YugoM57Tok all would benefit, I'm afraid to look up the price for all three.

Your set looks great, and I assume they're more comfortable than the stock mil-style grips.

Email him and ask! It's definitely going to be expensive though, his work doesn't come cheap.

And yes, they are actually way more comfortable than the stock milsurp plastic grips. A tiny bit more substantial and nice and rounded on the edges. Makes a HUGE difference in the way the pistol sits in my hand.
