Making a 366 Rigby

I went through all the cases and found a third turd, I also found one I didn't like the look of.
The primer is flattened all the way to the edges, the strike mark seems to have ruptured and there's a raised ring around the base that can be clearly felt as well as seen so that'll be scrapped.

That'll leave me with 295 good ones if I counted correctly, I found my self going
6..7..8..9,a hundred and..eh...sixty?
At least twice...

Lol it does look like one. Nothing like the sound of a decaping pin snapping. Or the crunch sound when you really messed up. That is one nice thing with the older dies that use the straight pin, you could always make one. The t head type are less likely to bent the rod and probably cheaper for the die companies to make.

Bummer -- I last did the accidental Berdan two-step a couple years back while trying to make some 8x57 blanks for a friend from surplus 30-06 cases he supplied. He thought my broken decapping pin was pretty funny for some reason. Fortunately it wasn't the pin on the Lee die in my dedicated universal decapping station, so live and learn.

I haven't done much reloading lately since the ranges here are closed and I'm fairly well caught up now. I ordered 1K of my favorite .311" plinking bullets yesterday, and melted down a bunch of lead scrap into ingots last week. Otherwise a lot of reading and thumb-twiddling during the Covid-19 wait.

interested in what 311 bullets you got.

Well, today the sun's shining again so enough with the reloading and time to go shooting. I got a hundred primed cases ready to go when I've figured out my ladders.

I thought I'd do some long range sniping today, 800 m.
Interestingly enough I'm doing it in my back yard which it's kind of impressing since I live in town.

I can get 25 m in the back and 57mm at 25 equals 182,4 cm at 800, almost exactly 6',
So today I'm taking out the Expendables, that's Dolph Lundgren second from the right.

The turds will be good for something at least

Are you perchance a Capstick fan from days past? http://www.minisniping.org/articles_petercapstick.html

In 84 I was just starting out in the shooting world with a Diana 25, it would be many years before I read gun magazines in English but I found that article when I was doing my conscripted military service. We tried it out with my Diana and some El Gamos and it didn't work of course. My lieutenant was kind enough to take out a couple of old FWB300 from the gym and let us shoot behind the motor pool.
We scoped them with some old hunting scopes and got into the frustrating world of mini sniping for a while before soldiering took up far more time than we liked and shooting even more on our spare time seemed idiotic.

After my discharge I took up paper punching while studying for my degree and competed for a while, still with old FWB300's.
The club had some 600 and 602 but you had to earn them and I didn't really commit enough to compete outside the regional circuit.

At my last job we had an air rifle range in the basement and I took it up again and bought my own 300 but since one of my colleagues shot for the national team I skipped competitions and just shot for the enjoyment.

Today's session didn't happen, as I was putting on my shoes it started to rain, and then it started to pour, and then it started to hail, and then there was more pouring and then I fell asleep on the couch.

It's still raining and even the dog won't go for a walk and I sure as heck won't get down to prone in this

I've called about half of Sweden's gun stores but no one carries spare expander rods or zip spindles as they are for some godforsaken reason called, but I finally found them at Brownells which came as a shock.

Brownells never has anything in stock and prices are far, far higher than the rest of the stores. They constantly email me about huge discount on AR15 stuff which probably makes the two dozen people who actually owns ARs happy but the rest of us keep wondering why they even bother having a swedish site.

Anyhoo, there should be a Hornady Die Maintenance Kit in the mail presently which contains quite a lot of usable things for $20, I'm frankly surprised. I had to pay $16 in shipping though so I added a 7 mm trimmer pilot, a 9.3 puller collet and an extra #2 shell holder.

I prefer to have complete set of tools in each box rather than hunting around in all the boxes for stuff that's in common between them.

Am I the only one who thinks that spending more money to reduce shipping per item is financially sound?

There are some benefits to owning a limited number of guns, all my reloading tools fit in a single ammo can. That's tools for four calibers, two lubrication pads, bullet puller, stuck case remover, chamfering tool, primer socket brushes, primer tubes and sundry misc. including an extra neck resizer in 30-06. Not much room left in there

Someday I might have a dedicated place to set this up, but that plywood piece has done it's duty for two decades

what is the little 4x4 in the picture, I like stuff like that.

That's the original Volvo Cross Country.
A military 4X4 from the 1960's, pretty much like a FC Jeep.

Ok that's what I was thinking, could not see well with my tablet. I have a sweet spot for volovs, a friend of mine mother was a upper up in the U.S.. Even had a 850r all wheel drive, don't think they sent many over here. My friend's wife works for them to and I've got to see and drive a lot of the prototype cars.

I had a p1800 I was restoring but had to see if.

I grew up in Saabs, still partial to them, but never took a shine to Volvos.
They were reliable boring things meant for transportation rather than a car meant to drive built with the input and experiences of fighter pilots

I have a thing for wagons, I've wanted a ute, but they never bring them over. They were going to release one this year for the U.S. But probably got pushed back. I did drive in the prototype in 2017 it was based on the xc90.

I drove a prototype s90 race car, it's still hybrid gas/electric but with over 600hp has and 600hp electric.

GM really screwed SAAB over, I've driven one of the last pre production prototypes and by god what a car!
It was registered in Germany and could never be imported and registered here due to once having had the prototype status. It was almost worth moving to Germany for, almost...

A XC90 utility would actually be a cool Volvo, never seen one or even a design proposal.

I'll ask a friend of ours, she destroys Volvos for a living and by doing so makes the world a better place one car at a time ;)
