Mannlicher

This is a little Mannlicher that was built by the Piedmont School Of Gunsmithing. They apparently build a rifle every year or so and put it up for auction to raise money for the class. I was lucky enough to see it for sale in our local paper and gladly picked up gun #2. This came with a certificate listing the people who donated their skills or products to help build the rifle, however I can't remember where I put it. The engraving on the trigger guard and floor plate is very well done but I can't get it to show up for some reason. Here are a few pictures of the rifle and I will try to do better on the floor plate. Take care and God bless...cordell-

Since this has been viewed several times I won't change it, I will just add to it. I don't think there is a Piedmont School Of Gunsmithing. I found the certificate and it states.

"The purpose of the Piedmont Gunsmithing Association is to promote academic excellence and quality workmanship while improving and expanding knowledge of the gunsmithing fields. To affiliate with national organizations of professionals in the firearms industriy; to comunicate with other students and proffesional groups; to increase occupational opportunities for Piedmont Gunsmithing Association members involved in gunsmithing and associated trades".

It goes on to say that this is Custom rifle #2 and that the black walnut was donated by Robert Watts, and "semi-cut" by Joe Balickie. The engraving was done by Jack Jones, and it has a Stan McFarland Butt Plate, custom made nose cap, Pete Grisel grip cap, Douglas premium #1 barrel, adjustable trigger, and Pete Grisel sling swivel bases. I still can't get a good picture of the floor plate but will try again when the sun comes out!! Take care and God bless..

Another 7mm that has been French Greyed, and engraved. The buttplate sports a hunting scene that I can't get to take a clear picture (I will post a poor one!!!).... This is my favorite 7mm!!!!!!!!! Take care and God bless...

Just before Christmas I won a 9.3x62 CZ 550FS on GunBroker. The first reload I tried in it shot less than an inch at 100 yards. I quit shopping for a receipe..........

Took a doe at 86 yards, one shot and dropped on the spot. Who said Mannlicher stocked rifles aren't accurate?

mmitch - that is one of the guns that I passed on buying when I was home on leave from Germany back in the late 80's and I've regretted it ever since. Someday I will own one...... she's a beauty, enjoy!
