"the tickets are free on a first-come-first-serve basis, thus even the homeless can get in on the action."

Allowing the homeless to stand in line and then sell the tickets.
They do not have much else to do after all.

I would expect transcripts to be available next day.

There is streaming live audio feed of oral argument available on the internet
Link? I was prepared to wait for the audio to appear on C-SPAN after the fact, but a live feed would be great.

I won't be going to the oral arguments but I will be flying into the DC metro area (Alexandria, VA) from March 18 - 20 for a series of company meetings. If anyone is up a victory dinner (yes, I'm optimistic) then I can start a thread about it in the rallying point forum. Any takers?

The decision won't be for a while after that, my optimistic friend. Much as I would like to see Roberts slam down the gavel and declare the ban gone, we're going to have to wait

The decision should come down by the end of June.If victorious(cautiously optimistic)a victory dinner celebration sounds great and I will be happy to attend.Lets us know the proposed location ASAP if the happy event occurs.

Sunglasses, identification tags (other than military), display buttons and inappropriate clothing may not be worn. A checkroom is available on the first floor to check coats and other personal belongings.

I take it that the Molon Labe hats and T-shirts are probably off limits as well? I think that they are appropriate.

Is this how long it always takes?

Or could the decision maybe come earlier then June?

June is a fair bet, but July isn't unreasonable.

Frankly, I wouldn't want them to rush to publish on this, or any other, case.

Anyone is welcome to get in line but you better get there early (i.e. the middle of the night). Seating is very limited and the landmark cases usually attract a lot of people. It is true that there are "line stander" companies that hire students and retirees to wait in line over night and then the high-powered lawyer or lobbyist swoops in a few minutes before the doors open to switch places. These folks are very common at congressional hearings.

I find it sad that it takes all this time to make a ruleing on such an obvious answer.

I'm curious as to way this is taking place now months before the November election. I doubt the outcome will hold any wieght, just look at illegal immigration.

Ahh rant off.

we have been waiting since 1934. a few more months won't kill any of us.

It would not surprise me if the decision were expedited. The justices know that this is an explosive issue, with a level of public interest that has not been seen in thirty years.

This would be really nice. But what is the realistic chance of this happening?
