How much are the Marlin 1894CB rifles going for now a days? There is a guy selling one on gunbroker for $3600 with a BIN of $4000. Is he on something or are they really selling for that much?

Would like to do a .327 federal conversion, but not if the base rifle is that expensive.

You can only go by "sold" listings for accurate ballpark values. Current listing prices are meaningless. Any yahoo can ask a stupid price for anything, its what it actually sells for thats important.

this marlin cowboy in 32 mag is the holy grail for most marlin cowboy rifle collectors, and was also to me. a friend found it for me and i bought it, it has been a safe queen since bought new and was not fired by the owner and has one small bump in the forearm wood from being moved in the safe(he didn,t keep the box, darn). it has no loading port, but loads like a tube fed .22 rifle. they do bring good money ,but 4000.00 is just plain stupid to me. eastbank.

Well I have one. I paid around $620 for it IIRC. I have thought about selling it but it doesn't cost me anything to sit in the closet.

I have about 100 rounds through it. I have the box and paperwork. Its like new. I did mount a scope and there are very, very faint marks on top of the receiver from that but other than that it is like it came from the factory.

I don't shoot it much. My 357 marlin is lighter in weight. The 44 mag is lighter still.

I did load some 76gr lead bullets with a tiny charge of powder and it was like CB22 quiet. That was cool. But other than that I just have never really shot it.

There ain't no way in H E double tooth picks I would pay $4000 for one. There are too many other things to buy for that much money.

Wow I thought that I had at least heard of most cartridges...guess I was wrong.

I'd sell and buy a .375 H&H mag from AHR...

YMMV,
Greg
