I recently came into a marlin 782 as a hand me down, and i just replaced the ejector as the original one was mangled and preventing the bolt from closing when the mag was in place.
I set the new ejector in, and i needed to bend it slightly as it was preventing the bolt from pulling a round out of the mag and chambering. I got that working, but I can't get it to actual eject a shell at all.
I can't find any reliable descriptions of exactly where this pin should be, nor can i figure out exactly what its supposed to be doing.. does it hit the shell from the back, underneath ? i have no idea.
Can anyone tell me what I need to adjust to get this ejecting properly? The extractor pulls the shell out very well, it just holds onto it the entire rearward travel of the bolt.
