Married guys. Do you and your wife both participate in shooting sports?

What does she shoot?

My wife likes the Ruger 1022 .22 cal but does not like to shoot handguns.

My wife does indeed shoot with me, and deer hunts too. She has a Ruger 77 MK2 .308 to hunt with, and she can and does shoot every gun I own. Once I had to work (3rd shift) and she did not and it was deer season. When I woke up she had killed a deer, gutted it, drug it home in the truck, skinned it and was in the process of butchering it the rest of the way when I got up! Now there is a woman!

Wife went shooting with me once at an informal bowling pin shoot. She liked shooting my Ruger .22/45 and did pretty well. She didn't want to try the .38.

My daughter also likes shooting the .22.

No but I talked her into goin with me this monday for the first time.
She will be shooting a Marlin model 60 and a Beretta NEOS and maybe the 608.
It would be nice for her to come along every now and then but its kinda my thing, sometimes i just wanna get away.

Not a married guy, but my husband does shoot with his wife. Thing is, we don't shoot together *nearly* as often as we want because someone has to stay home with the toddler.

Our most frequent shared shooting activity is just pistol shooting; we share a 9mm. He shoots rifle alone more often, and I shoot trap and skeet once or twice a week alone. Wish we could shoot trap together, but Sunday morning babysitters are hard to come by and way too expensive, on top of fees and shells.

Once in a while. She likes to be somewhat familiar with every gun I (we) own. That's quite a few.

Mine too. She shoots anything I have also. When she first started shooting I kept ramping up the caliber firearms as long as she felt comfy and didnt get the magnum flinch in her shots. Amazed me the last time she fired a couple hundred thru a Ruger .44 mag in one sitting. She owns a HK USP 9mm and DPMS AR 16" . She loves those tracers at night , It should be manditory (imho) for all new shooters to see the bullet path that bullets take once hitting an object. Best way I know is to fire tracers at dusk at targets in a field at distance of 150 yards plus.

My wife used to shoot with me quite a bit but lately grandkids and other family problems have kept her pretty busy but she wants to get back into it. She loves to shoot my old K22 and likes the .357 so much she has claimed my S&W 66 as her own bedside gun.:(

My wife has a 6" 686 and a Model 60. She likes to shoot, but the conditions have to be perfect: babysitting available, no precipitation, and 50 degrees or above outside. That amounts to maybe 2 to 4 range trips per year. Despite the rarity of her shooting, she is a good shot.

Two weeks ago I was out in the hay field shooting with my brothers. My wife walked out and took one shot with my .45 ACP. Bullseye, dead center, and she walked back to the house.

My wife shoots a handgun BETTER than me.
She shoots a rifle as good as I do.

Recently, she really got the bug when I re-did my Ruger 10/22. She's expressed that she really enjoys shooting it, and her groups show it.

I joked with her once that I needed to get her a pink AR (she is very fashion-conscious.) She sneered at me and said EBRs are BLACK, not pink.

To be fair, she won't let me Duracoat any of MY/OUR EBRs any color but Black, either.

I think she may have a point.

We've been married for four years and only went shooting together once. As I recall, we left the indoor range with her in tears. (she'd never shot before) Her gun handling safety was top-notch, though.

But, we're trying it again on monday, this time in the woods. I'm going to double up on her hearing protection. I think the concussion of firing on an indoor range was what scared her so badly last time. She's just happy to be spending time with me.

She's having trouble grasping the concept that smaller sized guns actually recoil more. She loves the looks of my Beretta .25ACP and wants one of her own. "But it's little, so it can't kick that much."

I'm still nudging her towards a large framed 9mm. The current HD gun I leave out for her when I'm not home is an all stainless (read: heavy) .38 special revolver. Light recoil and easy manual-of-arms.

Mine hasn't gone shooting in years as she is almost always "with baby" (pregnant for 9 months or breastfeeding for another 9... 3 kids now and another one to be made in a few months). She is afraid of any kind of chemical being absorbed into her body and harming baby. Yes, paranoid, but she is strict and suffers regular aches, pains and pregnancies with ZERO medication. I know I couldn't and wouldn't be that disciplined myself!

Yes she does want to go shooting though! :D

Others have said it, so I'll fess up. My wife shoots much less than I do, yet is a better shot with the scattergun. She's also steadier with the rifle, as long as it's a small caliber (.22, .223). With handguns and bigger rifles she's still a little timid.

My Loving Wife shoots reduced course Highpower. She uses a 9lb AR in 223. I WILL NOT shoot against her, it's not that she is that good, and she is pretty good, but I coach her.
The family that shoots together, stays together!

My wife rarely shoots. She looks at it with an " I've done that and I don't need to anymore" attitude. Just doesn't appeal to her. She shot well the last time out. I wish she would go more often. Sometimes she goes to the range with me but will not shoot.

Mark.

Yep. She sure does.

Bersa Firestorm 22, Ruger Single-Six, Ruger MK II, Ruger 10/22, and her Glock 19 regularly. She just started shooting a shotgun recently, and has fired an SkS a few rounds. Actually, I think she's shot most every gun we've got a few rounds at least.

Been married 4 years. Wife had never shot a gun till she met me. She likes bouncing tin cans with a 22 pistol(heck, who doesn't!)and will shoot my S&W 19 loaded with 38's. She turned in her first scoresheets at a couple GSSF-style matches this past year. Finished in the basement but I was still proud of her!!

My wife has been with me once since we've been married which hasn't been long. She really enjoyed my Saiga, and tells me just yesterday that she wants to go pick out a gun of her own. I was shocked! Shocked I tell you, I was sure if she was going to get one it would be because I egged her on about it. But she jsut came out and said it, out of the blue. Makes me so proud! :-D

My wife has a standing invitation to join me at my gun club for a round of shooting, but she has yet to take me up on the offer. Oh well, maybe someday.

Yes, she shoots.
She had never shot when we started going out.
Now, almost 10 years later, she has a couple of her own, and laid claim to a couple more of mine <grin>

Yeah, she shoots with me. She outshoots me with some of our pistols, too. (Glocks point high for me! #$@#$t)

She's pretty good with wheelguns too. Better than me. She can't outshoot me with sigs or with a rifle though.
